How do Payments work on Ringer? (Customers)

Customers

Our goal of making it easy to access open source experts only works if we can make sure that customers know that payments are safe and secure.

We partner with Stripe for payment services.

When you submit a request on Ringer, we request payment upfront - we then hold the money within Stripe until the expert call has taken place, at which point both you and expert can indicate that the engagement is over, and that payment can be made to the expert.

How do I know that my transaction is safe?

We don't process any payments or card information ourselves. We use Stripe for all payments related services, to ensure that you we are compliant with all relevant laws and to ensure that your information is protected.

Why do you request payment upfront?

We take payment upfront so that we can be confident that when your request is accepted by an Expert you can both move quickly to solve your problem. We have tested different processes and have found that confirming funds are available speeds up the entire process.

What if an expert doesn't accept my request?

If the request is not accepted within 72 hours, we refund your payment directly to you.

How do you decide when to payout an expert?

When an engagement is completed on the platform, and marked as complete by both sides, we will pay out the held funds to the expert.

What do I do if I am unsatisfied?

We take customer satisfaction very serious. If you have any issues at all, please contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to help.
